The New ‘fancy’ Facebook Timeline

I’ve been reading a lot about this from the F9 conference and with my ear to the ground in Twitter channels as well. Earlier today I found on post via Twitter on the new Facebook timeline feature.  It inspired me to drop what I was doing to see if I could set it up and get going.

After following the instructions outlined above, it was incredibly easy to setup! Took less than a minute. You literally just press next, next, next as the instructions outline and there you have it!

The pic above is my new Facebook timeline! Doesn’t it look great! I never use Facebook much these days because it drives me crazy some of the stuff that people post on Facebook. I promise I won’t rant again.

From a usability perspective, I think it’s going to be too much of a chance for some people and they may find an initial drop off. But on the other hand those people are 100% going to return, simply because of the power of the collective. If your ‘friends’ are on Facebook, they you are bound to return. I’m pretty confident that it comes from our instincts of wanting to be part of a pack and the over riding pack mentality.

Maybe I’ll stay for a little while and have a look around because there are some very exciting things coming out of the F8 conference including interpersonalization
